Grandmaster Relson Gracie

Relson "Campeão" Gracie is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter and martial arts personality. He is a member of the legendary Gracie family. Relson currently lives alternatively in Hawaii and Brazil where he still teaches Gracie Jiu-Jitsu at his academies in both locations. There are many Relson Gracie affiliated academies and associations throughout the U.S. and worldwide which keep him traveling regularly.

Relson Gracie is the second oldest son of Grandmaster Hélio Gracie, the founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. The Gracie family is directly responsible for spreading Jiu-Jitsu in Brazil and the world. Relson is a key figure for the growth of Jiu-Jitsu around the world. Relson started training at the age of 2 and already knew that he wanted to make Jiu-Jitsu his life.

Being an undefeated fighter throughout his competitive Jiu-Jitsu career, he constantly fought to defend his family's legacy whenever the call was made to do so. Relson never fought for money, only for honor and the name of the Family. He was considered a "Champion" because, in addition to being undefeated, he forced his opponents to quit using submissions such as his favorites, the cross choke or the arm lock. Although his opponents knew this about him, they always ended up falling victim to Relson due to the perfect execution of his technique.

For 22 years Relson submitted his opponents one by one, maintaining an impeccable and unblemished record. Relson's Jiu-Jitsu goes far beyond competitions as he teaches and lives Jiu-Jitsu to the fullest. His techniques have been tested in the heat of battle, whether fighting without rules, in the ring, the gym, or the streets. In order to spread Jiu-Jitsu worldwide, Relson and his brothers visited and challenged teachers of other disciplines in academies around the world, not taking into account things that today are very prevalent, such as his opponent's fighting style, weight, size, strength, the result was always the same. Their opponents ended the fight by giving the famous 3 taps for submission or " going to sleep" via a stranglehold technique following the teachings and philosophies of Grand Master Helio Gracie, who said that “a fight can only end for two reasons: submission or knockout”.

Relson followed these teachings to the letter in order to prove the effectiveness of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. With all this experience accumulated by all these years of dedication and many fights, today we have the manual of self-defense, where Relson is a specialist and also one of the most vocal defenders of his Jiu-Jitsu roots. Always following his father's advice, he tirelessly repeated all the positions in the manual and continues to repeat them until today, becoming a living encyclopedia of Jiu-Jitsu. Relson is one of the biggest references in self-defense worldwide.

He is sought out by law enforcement organizations such as the FBI, DEA and the Secret Service as well as other agencies around the world. His fighting style is geared towards real life and death situations that give him the ability and confidence to remain calm during stressful situations which provide invaluable help for professionals who have respect for Relson's techniques and teaching style.

Relson always teaches the importance of a balanced and healthy diet, the same diet that his father and family use today. This diet was created by his uncle and master, Carlos Gracie, which focuses on healthy, nutritious foods and eating them in specific combinations. Consequently, after years of success, this approach to food has become the much-publicized “Gracie Diet”, where his older brother Rorion Gracie does an excellent job in promoting it. Today Relson travels the world giving seminars and constantly visiting his associations around the world.

“THE MATS DON'T LIE.”
